There is a direct train from London Bridge station to Arundel for a couple of months. Great opportunity to visit the place.
The journey itself was exciting. Sheep with lambs, different cows, and even a small deer standing by the cottages.
This is a very real, huge medieval castle. Not just ruins.
On the castle grounds there were a lot of different events. Mostly for kids, but still made with a lot of passion.
You could shoot bows and crossbows, as well as some real size ballistae and miniature mangonels (aka catapult).
There were also a few medieval craftsmen, and a falconer, which had an adorable owl.
The tulip festival was astounding. First, there are tulips everywhere. Alongside castle walls, by the chapel, and in the gardens. Lots of them. Second, they were at their peak.
We then strolled around the town a bit. Support for Ukraine everywhere. Sat in a nice local cafe by the town square for lunch. Had to wait outside to get a table, but not for too long, maybe 10 minutes at best.
